Each
client PC computer should be equipped with a BIOS extension, called
Wired for Management, or WfM. Among other things, a WfM
extension contains an hardware abstraction layer, called
Preboot eXecution Environment, or PXE. The PXE software sends
a DCHP-Request message to the network. A DHCP-server (or Rembo's build-in
DHCPProxy) answers that the system should boot from a Rembo Server. The
PXE software downloads the Rembo OS' overlay from the Rembo Server. It
gets in execution and it loads and starts the Rembo OS.
Each target computer is assigned with a web page on the Rembo Server.
The web page provides the initial display on the target computer.
The Rembo Wizard's
initial web page is called rembowiz.shtml ("s" for Server
Side Includes). The page displays some version and IP-address information
on the base screen, but its main function is to load
The Rembo Wizard plug-in.
Once loaded,
The Rembo Wizard program
gets in execution and it takes control of the operations according to
client computer specific configuration.
